August 4 – French star and LAFC player in Major League Soccer, Olivier Giroud, recently revealed in an interview with the media that Zlatan Ibrahimovic had told him he would like the league, as MLS is a striker’s league.
Giroud said: “He [Ibrahimovic] told me I would like this league, it’s a league for strikers, they don’t play matches to preserve results or defend. In MLS, games are about scoring goals and bringing joy to passionate fans.”
At the same time, Giroud also expressed his confidence in MLS: “I can bring my experience, my professionalism, my goals, and of course all the advice I can offer, and I will serve my team wholeheartedly. Compared to the top five European leagues which have made great progress in recent years, this is a different league, one I must adapt to, but I will make a contribution here.”
Giroud has played in top professional leagues such as Ligue 1, the Premier League, and Serie A for 18 years, including the last four seasons with AC Milan, scoring 285 goals in 716 club appearances.
