After concluding their Asia tour, the entire Bayern Munich team has returned to Germany to prepare for the new season. The Bayern executives highly praised their time in Asia, particularly their visit to South Korea, noting that they achieved excellent results from both a commercial and competitive standpoint.
Their trip to South Korea was akin to a special forces operation, lasting just 85 hours from arrival to departure. However, the club placed significant importance on this first-ever visit to South Korea in its history. Before returning to Munich, Bayern’s top brass, along with head coach Kompany and player representatives Müller and Kim Min-jae, attended a press conference.
Sporting Director Eberl spoke first, expressing his satisfaction with the competitive level displayed in Bayern’s match against Tottenham: “Almost 64,000 fans watched us beat Tottenham 2-1. The game showcased many positive aspects, including high energy, intensity, and efficient running—this is the new Bayern style.”
Finance Director Diederich praised the commercial success of the South Korean tour: “From a merchandise sales perspective, this was the most successful overseas training camp in Bayern’s history. In the past four weeks, sales of Bayern jerseys in South Korea even surpassed those of the entire previous season. We always have high expectations, and everything exceeded them in South Korea.”
New head coach Kompany also expressed approval of the training results demonstrated in the match, hoping to bring Bayern back into contention for titles in the new season. Kompany said, “What’s important is that we create threats when we have possession. We did very well in this regard, and everyone is willing to make sacrifices for the team in difficult situations.” Veteran Müller voiced his support for the head coach, saying, “If I could have predicted that we would perform as well as we did in the first half after only a few days of training together, I would be more than satisfied. High-intensity pressing is exactly what I like.”
