On the afternoon of July 29, in the women’s 10-meter air rifle final at the Olympics, Chinese athlete Huang Yuting won the silver medal, while South Korean competitor Pan Hyo-jin took the gold with a slight advantage of 0.1 ring.
Notably, after 24 shots, both the Chinese and South Korean athletes had a total of 251.8 rings each, tying the event record set by Chinese athlete Yang Qian at the previous Olympics. This means that three athletes, including Huang Yuting, Yang Qian, and Pan Hyo-jin, now share this Olympic record.
However, South Korean news agency Yonhap wrote in its report, “Pan Hyo-jin set a new Olympic final record with 251.8 rings.”
