According to Spanish newspaper Sport, RB Leipzig is firm in its stance that it will only sell Dani Olmo if the full transfer fee of €60 million is met; otherwise, the German club will not release the Spanish international.
Per reports, Barcelona had previously offered a fixed fee of €40 million plus an additional €20 million in variables for Olmo, but this proposal was rejected by Leipzig. Following this, Barcelona is considering increasing the fixed fee to €45 million with an additional €15 million in variables and resubmitting their offer to Leipzig.
However, after meeting with the player’s agent yesterday, Leipzig has reiterated its position: since Olmo’s market value stands at €60 million, they will only allow him to leave if the full amount of €60 million is paid.
Leipzig has stated that their asking price for Olmo is reasonable, as he was one of the standout players at the Euros and his buyout clause was set at €60 million. Now that the buyout clause expired on July 15th, Leipzig is still willing to sell him for €60 million, which they consider to be a cooperative move.
This summer transfer window, besides Barcelona, other clubs such as Bayern Munich and Manchester City are also reportedly interested in Olmo, who is currently awaiting confirmation of his future destination.
