On August 4, Zhu Yi, an administrator for Transfermarkt, updated his social media status, stating that Shandong Taishan had submitted their roster for the AFC Champions League Elite Play-off round, filling up the full quota of 35 players. Notably, Delgado was registered as a pure Chinese player for the first time.
Zhu Yi wrote on social media: “Shandong Taishan’s registration list for the AFC Champions League Elite League play-off round. The team has filled the full quota of 35 players, including four foreign players. Delgado, the naturalized player, has been registered as a pure Chinese player for the first time. No foreign players who were deregistered during the summer transfer window have been included in this list. Due to having only three U21 players in the first team, seven players from the B team, who compete in the China League Two, have been added to reach the full quota (the registration requirements stipulate at least ten U21 players, with the maximum number reduced if fewer than ten are available).
*Note: The registration list may still be adjusted theoretically five days before the start of the competition.”
According to the schedule, Shandong Taishan will face Bangkok United on August 13 at 20:00 local time.
