On July 9, Spain, a group opponent of China’s women’s basketball team in the Olympics, announced its final 12-woman roster for the Games, headlined by Gustafson, who plays for the WNBA’s Aces.
At the Paris Olympics, China’s women’s basketball team is grouped with Spain, Serbia, and Puerto Rico. Among them, Spain stands as the strongest opponent, currently ranked No. 4 in the world. On June 23 last month, China’s women’s basketball team played a warm-up match against Spain, losing 46-70 to their opponents.
The 12-woman roster for Spain largely mirrors the lineup that participated in last month’s warm-up game. The biggest name is Gustafson from the WNBA’s Aces, along with 35-year-old veteran Tornoe.
Here is Spain’s 12-woman roster for women’s basketball:
Araujo, Casas, Cazorla, Conde, Gil, Ginzo, Gustafson, Ortiz, Rodriguez, Romero, Villarroya, Tornoe
