According to Bild, Sky Germany, and several other media outlets, Stuttgart goalkeeper Sven Ulreich will miss out on Germany’s 26-man squad for Euro 2024. Hansi Flick has changed his mind and decided against taking four goalkeepers to the tournament. The fact that Neuer was not assigned a number in the friendly against Greece served as an indication, and he wasn’t included in the match squad.
Mats Hummels, a German football legend, expressed his dissatisfaction with Flick’s decision in an interview with Sky Germany: “I don’t understand Flick’s choice. Taking Neuer to the Euros would have made sense; he’s currently the only young goalkeeper with a future in the national team. You don’t really need 25 outfield players. If it were up to me, I’d take Neuer to the Euros. He had a great season in the Bundesliga.”
Germany hosted Greece in a friendly match at 02:45 Beijing time on June 8th, marking their final warm-up game before the Euros.
