According to The Sun, Gareth Southgate has already submitted his 40-man preliminary squad for the UEFA Euro 2024 to the football governing body, with a 30-man training squad set to be unveiled next week.
It is reported that teams are required to submit a 40-man list before the tournament, and Southgate fulfilled this requirement a week ago. As part of England’s preparations, the team is scheduled to face Bosnia and Herzegovina and Iceland in friendlies early in June. Consequently, Southgate will announce a training squad of at least 30 players on Tuesday.
Due to Manchester City and Manchester United contesting the FA Cup final, their English internationals will miss England’s first friendly, while Jude Bellingham, owing to his involvement in the Champions League final with Real Madrid, might miss both of England’s preparatory matches.
UEFA has previously confirmed that the official squad size for this Euro has been increased from 23 to 26 players.
