On July 9, official news announced that 44-year-old former Premier League forward Craig Bellamy has been appointed as the head coach of the Wales national team.
Prior to this, Bellamy was serving as the interim head coach at Burnley and has now officially left the club. He has signed a contract with the Football Association of Wales that will run until 2028.
The 44-year-old Bellamy previously served as captain of the Wales team and made 78 appearances for the national side between 1998 and 2013.
Regarding his appointment as the head coach of the Wales national team, he stated, “The opportunity to manage my own national team is a great honor for me and it is the proudest moment of my career. I am ready to take on the challenge.”
