On May 14, the German Football Association (DFB) announced another player for their UEFA Euro squad, with Chris Freyjik of VfB Stuttgart securing his spot.
Starting this week, DFB will reveal four players per day for the Euro squad, with the full list expected to be disclosed by Thursday.
Previously, DFB announced five players: Schlotterbeck, Jonathan Tah, Pavlovic, Neuer, and Füllkrug, each with their own unique announcement style.
This time, the news of Chris Freyjik’s selection for the Euros was printed on the packaging bags of a local bakery, “Bakery Seeger,” in Stuttgart. Many fans stumbled upon this information while buying bread, creating quite the surprise.
The 26-year-old plays as an attacking midfielder and can play multiple positions in the center and on the wings. This season, he made 37 appearances for Stuttgart across all competitions, scoring 9 goals and providing 7 assists.
