On June 26th, in the final Group D match of the European Championship, Poland drew 1-1 with France. Polish head coach Probielz expressed that despite not advancing, his team demonstrated they could hold their own against any opponent.
In this Euro tournament, Poland finished bottom of the group with one draw and two losses, accumulating just one point. After the match, Probielz commented, “Although we didn’t qualify and may have let our fans down, there were still many positives to take from playing against a talented French side. There’s no need for sadness; we showed we can match the World Cup runners-up, which gives us confidence for future encounters against other opponents. Today, we proved that when we maintain a calm and composed mindset, we are capable of playing attractive football.”
After consecutive losses to the Netherlands and Austria in the first two matches, Poland managed to hold France to a draw, salvaging some pride and dashing France’s hopes of topping the group.
