According to The Sun, the England national team is planning to spend £100,000 on hiring private bodyguards to protect the squad from potential attacks during their stay in Germany for the European Championship.
It’s understood that this time, the team is seeking “military experts” rather than conventional security guards. While the guards provided by the FA during the World Cup in Qatar offered adequate security, they aim to enhance the safety measures for this tournament.
A source revealed, “They’re looking for trained ex-military who can blend in and not be too obvious. This way, the players can enjoy more freedom while still being secure. They don’t want to feel constantly monitored or restricted. The initial offer for the first few weeks might be around £65,000, but it could end up topping £100,000.”
England’s first opponents in the tournament will be Serbia, followed by matches against Denmark and Slovenia.
