On June 30, England will face Slovakia in the Round of 16 of the European Championship. Ahead of the knockout fixture, Kane hinted that he might be reaching his peak form.
During the group stage, Kane was heavily relied upon but failed to live up to expectations, scoring only one goal. His performance drew criticism from various quarters.
Undeterred by his group stage display, Kane expressed confidence, saying, “It’s a natural process in any major tournament. Obviously, the more games you play, the better your fitness becomes, and you become more dangerous. I don’t think it’s just me; there are actually many players who tend to hit their peak in the knockout stages.”
Looking ahead to the upcoming knockouts, Kane continued, “It’s a completely different proposition from the group stage. I love the knockout battles. We’ve dealt with them well in the past, and now it’s time to do it again.”
In the 2023-24 season, Kane had an impressive run with Bayern, featuring in 45 matches, scoring 44 goals, and providing 12 assists.
