The 2024 season of the FIM Women’s Motocross World Championship (FIM WMX) consists of seven rounds, with three events already completed. These include the round in Spain at intu Xanadu – Arroyomolinos on March 23-24, the Italian round in Sardegna – Riola Sardo on April 6-7, and the Spanish round in Galicia – Lugo on May 11-12.
One standout performer in these three rounds has been the Dutch beauty, Lotte Van Drunen, riding with number 401. Out of the six motos contested so far, she has claimed three victories and three second-place finishes, currently leading the championship standings with 141 points.
At just sixteen years old, Van Drunen made her debut in the European Motocross Championship (EMX65) and the FIM Junior Motocross World Championship (65cc class) in 2018 at the age of eleven. She entered the WMX in 2022, securing 22nd place in her first year. In the 2023 season, she burst onto the scene with her maiden race win, amassing 230 points for a third-place finish overall. Over the course of six rounds, she captured four victories and one third-place finish, standing on the podium five times.
For the 2024 season, Van Drunen switched from Kawasaki to Yamaha. Below are images of her in action during the first three rounds of the 2024 season.
