The Esports World Cup (EWC) Foundation has unveiled its inaugural Club Support Program featuring 30 esports organizations. The initiative aims to “promote sustainable infrastructure for multi-title esports clubs,” with these clubs eligible for six-figure financial support to expand their operations.
Specifically, EWC Club Support Program members will receive annual financial rewards based on their ability to boost viewership and fan engagement for the Esports World Cup.
The EWC Foundation mentioned that due to receiving over 150 applications from esports clubs in February, it increased the program’s capacity from 28 to 30 slots.
Of the 30 member clubs, eight were selected based on criteria such as the club’s esports history, forward-thinking competitive strategies and goals, and innovative approaches in content and fan engagement. The remaining 22 clubs were directly invited by the EWC Foundation.
Succeeding the Petro Cup, the inaugural Esports World Cup is set to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from July 3 to August 25. Over an eight-week period, it will feature 20 matches with a massive total prize pool of $60 million.
The CS project tournament is scheduled for July 17-21, with 15 teams competing for a $1 million prize pool, including FaZe, Spirit, and Natus Vincere.
