KRAFTON has announced the PUBG 7th Anniversary themed in-game update for PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, packed with various exciting contents and events.
PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS was officially launched on Steam in 2017, achieving the highest concurrent player count on the platform at 3.25 million players. The game has been a Platinum-level bestseller and one of the most played games on Steam for seven consecutive years, enjoying global popularity.
To mark the 7th anniversary of PUBG, a grand celebration event is underway. Erangel’s School and Diner have transformed into vibrant 7th Anniversary-themed locations. The Diner’s vending machine has a 7% chance to dispense seven energy drinks in special anniversary attire. Seven-year anniversary cupcakes and surprise gift boxes are available for throwing at spawn points across all maps. Additionally, billboards, decorations, care packages, and plane banners across all maps have been adorned with 7th Anniversary designs.
To celebrate the 7th anniversary of PUBG, a variety of events and rewards are in store. Until April 8, players can visit the event page and click the participate button to receive the 7th Anniversary Package. In-game events like the “7th Anniversary Party,” “Boosting for 7 Years,” “Happy Hour!,” and “Celebrating Together!” offer special drops upon completion, rewarding players with 7th Anniversary costume items, G-COIN, and Black Market Tickets. The 7th Anniversary Screenshot Event runs until March 27, encouraging players to capture screenshots of the 7th Anniversary decorations in Erangel and share them on community channels. Prizes include a PUBG Razer gaming peripherals set, a Samsung SSD 990 PRO 1TB, and custom PUBG 7th Anniversary keycap sets.
As announced in the 2024 Work Plan, Update 28.2 introduces the “Operations Gunfight Lab” to the Arcade. To let players experience and provide feedback on gunfight balance adjustments planned for PUBG, these changes will first be implemented in the Arcade mode.
This update also includes map rotations that occur with each update, a dedicated inventory slot for the “Ghillie Suit,” new weapons added to “Weapon Proficiency,” and the removal of the “Practical Belt” among other functional changes. Various issues, scene problems, and other errors have been fixed.
