Recently, zonic, the head coach of Falcons, discussed his experience working with s1mple in an interview.
“It was just a loan, and it was fun playing alongside s1mple. I enjoyed the change he brought to the team; he would always speak up if something wasn’t right in his opinion. He’d say it in the friendliest way possible: ‘Hey guys, I don’t think this is good, we did it differently at NAVI.’ It was great, and we learned from that.
Obviously, we’ve seen his peak performance, and when you analyze players like that, you realize it. You could put donk and m0NESY in that category, but when ZywOo and s1mple try things, there’s a… if I were to do the same, I’d get killed instantly. But they become the X-factor, and we saw that capability immediately in actual matches.”
zonic was not keen on spending millions of dollars to acquire s1mple, as it would add extra pressure to the team. Currently, he aims to build his system in a more serene environment.
“For me, spending millions on a player and building a system around him feels like a waste. I genuinely want to establish my own system in a calm environment. If we had picked up s1mple right after RMR, the pressure would still be there, and both the team and him would constantly feel the need to prove themselves immediately. We already have enough pressure with being a Saudi Arabian powerhouse club and having star players leave two of the top teams. We want stability now, to build our system, and play comfortably. Signing s1mple would have added even more pressure, and I believe it wouldn’t have been the right move at this time.”
