The organizers of the MESA Nomad Masters have unveiled the full schedule and first-round matchups for the upcoming spring tournament taking place in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. The Mongolian event will run from May 28 to June 2, featuring eight teams from Europe and Asia competing for a $100,000 prize pool.
The Mongolz will face Gaimin Gladiators in their opening match.
The competition will employ a double-elimination BO3 format, with the grand final being a BO5. The first three days of matches will take place in a studio setting, while the remaining six teams will then battle it out at the Steppe Arena.
The first round consists of four inter-regional clashes, with Chinese team Lynn Vision going up against Aurora, tournament favorites The Mongolz taking on Gaimin Gladiators, BLEED, now reinforced, battling Chinggis Warriors, and OG facing off against ATOX.
In a statement, MESA explained that the initial matchups were “not based on any specific ranking system” but designed to foster competition between the two regions.
“This ensures that each region faces new competition, reducing the often-seen regional clashes in other events. Every Asian team will play against an European counterpart, aiming to provide a captivating start to the playoffs. We believe this approach will enhance the experience for all teams and fans alike,” the statement read.
