Dragon rises, dreams chase glory! The PUBG PCL 2024 Spring Season is in full swing, and after intense competition spanning about two weeks, 16 teams have emerged victorious under the new tournament format, securing their spots in the playoffs!
In this new format, all teams were divided into ABC three groups and competed in a single round-robin. After five rounds of thrilling regular season matches, NH Esports, DDT Esports, and CTG Esports topped the leaderboard with 506, 496, and 467 points respectively. Other playoff-bound teams include Tianba Esports, CCG Esports, PeRo Esports, 17Gaming, 4AM Esports, MnG Esports, TYLOO Esports, Dss Esports, ZCG Esports, FTG Esports, TBB Esports, TSG Esports, HQ Esports!
On May 9th to 11th, these 16 teams will battle it out in three rounds, each consisting of six matches. The final rankings will be determined by total points, with a grand prize of 3 million yuan at stake. So, which teams delivered standout moments in the regular season, and will they continue their impressive form in the playoffs? Let’s review:
In the first day of the first round, the action was intense, with battles on Erangel island resulting in close gunfights. BSH triumphed over NH in a showdown, followed by SMS and CCG repeating a similar scenario, with SMS securing a victory. Notably, NH’s MMing reached a milestone of 1400 eliminations, becoming the first player in PCL history to achieve this.
Last year’s standout performers, 17Gaming, TL Esports, and NH Esports, finally found their stride, winning matches consecutively, showcasing their dominance. After the first day’s six matches, SMS led with 27 eliminations and 49 total points.
In the second day’s matches, other teams stepped up, intensifying the competition. 17Gaming and ZCG Esports seized opportunities and secured victories.
Following these matches, CCG surged to the top with 84 total points. PeRO’s Aixleft led the God of War leaderboard with 3010 total damage and 19 eliminations, while DDT’s Shen and Cold119 ranked second and third with 3372 and 2661 damage, respectively.
On the last day of the first round, YT Esports finished with three members, defeating TSG to secure their first win. In the following match, PeRO and NH fought fiercely but didn’t prevail. NH finished third in a confrontation, and DSS claimed victory in their match against PeRO. NH finally secured its first chicken dinner in the last match of the day, eliminating DDT in a three-versus-two showdown.
