NBA salary expert John Hollinger published an article forecasting the potential amount of Los Angeles Clippers star James Harden’s upcoming contract.
The original report reads:
“Harden is still a productive player, but he’ll turn 35 in August, and his style of play doesn’t fit every team. A key factor in any deal will be the length, particularly given his decline over the past two seasons and questions about his ability to maintain peak conditioning over an extended period.”
“On the other hand, Harden scored 33 points in Game 4 against the Mavericks in the playoffs, with a 61.6% true shooting percentage in the series. Although the Clippers lost to Dallas and Harden struggled in the final two games, it would be unfair to place all the blame on him. If he departs, the Clippers would struggle to find a replacement. Considering Kawhi Leonard has three years left on his deal, I anticipate Harden’s new contract landing somewhere in the range of $90 million to $100 million over three years.”
