On June 25th, the Lakers officially announced that Redick has become the team’s new head coach.
Speaking about how he plans to utilize LeBron James during a press conference, Redick said, “You have to get his buy-in and talk about how he wants to play. I’ve joked with him about it – he shot over 40% from three this season, so I want him taking more threes. He has these 3-4 bursts in games where he does things in transition that people his age aren’t supposed to do, but he does. So, it’s about figuring out half-court sets, putting him in different spots to score and facilitate. That will be part of the discussion in the coming months.”
