According to previous reports, the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) imposed penalties following a clash during a warm-up match involving the Xinjiang men’s basketball team.
A domestic sports media personality, @WangShenwei, posted an interpretation of the penalty notice:
“Although the Chinese Basketball Association issued the penalty notice somewhat late, it still demonstrated their stance. Even though the conflict occurred during a warm-up game by the Xinjiang team, it still violated the ‘Disciplinary Rules and Punishment Regulations of the Chinese Basketball Association.’ Six players in total, including Huang Rongqi, Qi Lin, Xi Erzhati, Lu Tuba, Tang Caiyu, and Li Yanzhe, were suspended. The Xinjiang club was also fined 50,000 RMB. However, one point clearly stated in this penalty notice is that the suspended games for the players include the CBA Summer League, pre-season games, and regular season matches. Therefore, the main players of the Xinjiang team penalized will not be significantly affected in the new season. This detail also highlights the ‘cleverness’ of the penalty notice.”
