Recently, in the 76ers player George’s podcast, Hawks core player Trae Young talked about the Knicks fans that left a lasting impression on him.
“That (New York fans) was too funny, I will never forget it. There was this girl, I guess she was around 10 to 12 years old, she gave me the middle finger. I didn’t interact with her, I just looked at her dad. Many of the on-site photos show me smiling, that was my real reaction, I was pretty cool, right? The Knicks fans did some things off the court too, they are really interesting.”
Trae Young led the Hawks to the Eastern Conference Finals in the 2020-21 playoffs, eliminating the Knicks 4-3 in the semi-finals. The moment when he bowed to the New York fans after hitting a decisive three-pointer became an eternal classic.
