On August 25, the WNBA regular season continued, with the Indiana Fever losing 80-90 to the Minnesota Lynx, ending their two-game winning streak.
In this game, Fever’s rising star Clarke started off cold, hitting only 1 of 7 shots in the first quarter, putting the team at a disadvantage. Fortunately, in the second quarter, Clarke found her rhythm, making 4 out of 5 shots. Under her leadership, the team narrowed the point difference. In the second half, Clarke was unable to maintain her hot hand, and the Fever fell back into a passive position, with the point difference widening again. The Fever were unable to respond effectively, ultimately losing the game.
This game marked Clarke reaching her WNBA career milestone of 500 points (in just 29 games). Unfortunately, she was not able to lead the team to victory. She made 8 out of 18 shots, including 3 out of 8 three-pointers, scoring 23 points, grabbing 5 rebounds, and providing 8 assists, but also had as many as 7 turnovers, an area that still needs adjustment.
Additionally, Mitchell scored 21 points, Boston contributed 10 points and 15 rebounds, and Hull added 10 points. However, the team struggled from beyond the arc, hitting only 7 out of 29 attempts, for a shooting percentage of just 24.1%.
