On August 6, in the first quarterfinal match of the Olympic Men’s Basketball tournament, Germany faced off against Greece.
In the opening stages, Germany was in poor form with Ties repeatedly failing to score. On the other hand, Greece, led by Giannis Antetokounmpo, unleashed a 10-2 scoring run.
Germany called a timeout promptly, but it did little to change their fortunes. In half a quarter, Germany managed only 4 points while Giannis Antetokounmpo made two free throws, giving Greece a double-digit lead. Soon after, Giannis Antetokounmpo also delivered a powerful dunk.
