July 21st, the agency issued a statement announcing that Choi Yong-hwi will return to Korea to recuperate from a minor leg injury. He plans to return to the United States in early August to continue his pursuit of the NBA.
The statement reads:
In consultation with the Portland coaching staff, our signed player, Choi Yong-hwi, will be returning to Korea for a period of adjustment and rest following his participation in games with the Hornets. He will return to the U.S. in early August to resume team training, exhibition games, and pre-season camps.
Choi Yong-hwi has played three games in the NBA Summer League, contributing with two three-point shots in a match against the Philadelphia 76ers, where he appeared for six minutes and scored six points with one assist.
