On June 27, news emerged that the summer heat is far from over, with Kevin Durant and James Harden not letting up on their training regimens despite being in the midst of turmoil.
Earlier, images surfaced of James Harden, Durant, Oklahoma City Thunder rookie Chet Holmgren, and Darien Terry training together at the University of Southern California (USC). Apparently, they were under the guidance of USC assistant coach Will Conroy. It’s worth noting that all three have ties to the Thunder franchise: Chet is a current Thunder player, while Durant and Harden previously spent years with the team, fueling speculation about a potential reunion.
During the session, despite playing different positions on the court, they were all working on similar basketball skills. Chet, in particular, displayed handles and moves reminiscent of a larger version of Durant. This summer, several NBA players have visited the facility for training, including Orlando Magic star Paolo Banchero on Friday, and Chicago Bulls’ DeMar DeRozan a few days prior.
According to accounts from those present, the USC basketball team was also given the opportunity to observe these NBA superstars in action, with players expressing how much they learned from the experience. “Watching them train, seeing their professionalism—just like our coach said, if we want to reach that level, we have to watch them, train with them, and see what they do,” said one observer.
