On June 27th, the New York Knicks selected the 18-year-old French player Pacome Dadié with the 25th pick in the first round of the 2024 NBA Draft.
According to NBA journalist Evan Sidery, Dadié might not join the NBA immediately.
With the Knicks having recently extended Anunoby’s contract, their total salary for next season is projected to reach $172 million, surpassing the luxury tax threshold of $171 million. If Dadié decides to play in a foreign league temporarily, the team would save a significant amount in luxury taxes.
