July 4th news suggests that Bronny might see action mainly in the G League with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Sports journalist Woj recently mentioned in a show that it’s unlikely for Bronny to share the court frequently with his father, LeBron James, and added that it’s “not expected” for Bronny to be part of the Lakers’ regular rotation. He’s projected to spend the bulk of his time with the South Bay Lakers, the Lakers’ G League affiliate.
This summer, Bronny was drafted by the Lakers with the 55th overall pick. Rumors have it that he signed a four-year deal worth $7.9 million with the team.
In NBA history, there has never been a father-son duo playing simultaneously in the league, let alone on the same team. LeBron and Bronny are all but guaranteed to become the first pair to achieve both milestones.
The league currently has several second-generation players, such as Domantas Sabonis and Arvydas Sabonis, Klay Thompson and Mychal Thompson, and Gary Trent Jr. and Gary Trent Sr. However, when LeBron and Bronny take the court together for the Lakers in a few months, a new chapter in NBA history will be written.
