On June 12th, local time, the ATP CH125 Nottingham tournament continued, with Chinese player Zheng Juncheng securing a straight-sets victory over Australian Bolt, 6-4, 6-3, to progress to the quarterfinals.
Given the significant ranking difference between the two, Zheng did not allow Bolt many opportunities. Zheng showcased his strong serving, hitting seven aces and achieving an impressive first-serve win rate of 82%. His powerful serves enabled him to hold all his service games. In contrast, Bolt gifted the match with a double fault in his final, non-optional service game. Zheng wrapped up the win in just 74 minutes, winning 6-4, 6-3.
This marks Zheng’s second consecutive appearance in the quarterfinals of a grass court event after last year’s ATP CH125 Ilkley. Next, he will face local qualifier underdog Fearnley, who upset Buynocekter in the first round.
