On June 23, Germany will face Switzerland in their final UEFA Euro group match. Ahead of the game, central defender Jonathan Tah joined head coach Julian Nagelsmann at a press conference, addressing questions about their playing style and potential suspensions.
Tah, along with his center-back partner Antonio Rüdiger, is on a yellow card, leading journalists to ask if he would be hesitant in making tackles due to the risk of a suspension. Tah addressed the issue directly, saying, “I am aware of the risk (of accumulating yellows), but this won’t change my approach in one-on-one situations. I will always strive to win every duel, just as I have done before.”
When asked about Germany’s solid defense, having conceded only one goal, an own goal, Tah responded, “This is a result of our team’s defensive strategy, which allows us to withstand pressure from opponents in challenging moments. It makes us stronger and boosts our confidence in controlling matches.”
Tah also expressed gratitude for the fan support: “We can feel the impact of the Euros on the whole country, which brings us even closer together as a team. We have reignited belief in everyone, most importantly, in ourselves.”
