According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have been in contact with Dutch football legend Ruud van Nistelrooy, who is now set to become a part of Erik ten Hag’s coaching setup at the club.
In addition to Manchester United, Van Nistelrooy has had two meetings with Burnley, and he is currently awaiting their response. It’s understood that he previously met with Burnley owner Alan Pace to outline his plans to succeed Vincent Kompany.
Van Nistelrooy had a one-year stint coaching PSV Eindhoven, where he gained a reputation for nurturing homegrown talent and led the Dutch club back to the UEFA Champions League. However, he resigned last year due to differences with the PSV board.
As one of United’s legends, Van Nistelrooy scored 150 goals in 219 appearances for the Red Devils during his playing days.
