In a Group C match of the European Championship on June 17th at midnight, Denmark drew 1-1 with Slovenia. Kasper Schmeichel, the Danish goalkeeper who started the game, spoke to the media after the match.
Schmeichel said, “A draw wasn’t the result we were looking for, but it’s not the worst start we’ve had. We’ve been through worse. Of course, whenever we don’t leave the pitch with a victory, the whole team is disappointed. We had a good first half and created chances to finish the game, but then Oblak made a world-class save.”
“After failing to beat Slovenia, we are in a position where we have to win our next matches against England and Serbia. We need to believe in ourselves and put this first game behind us. No more highs or lows; now it’s about focusing on the next one.”
“I’m not worried about facing England. There are also many great personalities with strong characters in the Danish dressing room, all high-quality players. It’s a unique experience.”
