In last night’s EPL S19 elimination match, Astralis defeated Liquid 2-0. After the match, br0 spoke with a foreign media outlet, discussing his feelings about the victory, his adaptation to Astralis, and more.
Q: Congratulations on the win. How does it feel to have beaten Liquid?
A: I’m happy we won, especially for stavn and jabbi, beating cadiaN. Of course, playing against former teammates is always tough, but winning feels great.
Q: Were you nervous after joining the team and achieving good results so soon?
A: I don’t feel nervous. In the first three or four matches, maybe, but now I’m pretty much settled in. There are always new challenges when you join a new team, but I’m not making any excuses. Compared to my experiences elsewhere, my adaptation to Astralis has been very quick.
Q: Would you consider today’s victory over Liquid as a personal triumph against cadiaN?
A: A personal victory? I don’t know. I’ve had a win and a loss against cadiaN before. So now it’s two wins to one loss, but competing against him is always interesting.
Q: What do you envision for your future in Astralis?
A: That’s a good question. The positive thing is that we all have different perspectives, but we ultimately align in our thinking. We’re always learning, which I think is the most important part. Even though we’re performing well, we’re improving every day and in every match. There’s always room for optimization and improvement. To be the best, that’s crucial.
Q: How has your mindset been since joining Astralis, and how has the team supported you?
A: Joining Astralis has been great. I’m still adapting, process-wise. Their support allows me to have more impact in-game. As a team player, I’m happier seeing the team perform rather than focusing on my individual stats. If we win, even if my numbers aren’t the best, it doesn’t matter. For example, on Overpass against Liquid, they attacked A site almost every round, and jabbi and stavn picked up five kills between them. Statistically, it might not look impressive, but from a teamwork perspective, it was fantastic. I’m excited for what’s to come.
Q: You previously played for Monte. What’s your take on their performance at EPL S19?
A: They did great, and honestly, they could have taken FaZe. FaZe is a tough opponent, but Monte should have won that BO3. It was sad to see them eliminated, but I’m glad they made it to the playoffs again, as they did last time. They have the potential to progress even further this time.
Q: Many Ukrainian fans cheered for you while you were at Monte. Do you have a message for them?
A: I want to say thank you for the continuous support. I can feel it, and it’s amazing to receive messages from Ukrainian fans. Your support means a lot.
