According to talkSPORT today, Roma are attempting to sell Abraham for a fee of £26 million, a move that has piqued the interest of multiple English top-flight teams.
Last season, Abraham suffered significant injuries, and the Italian club is now seeking to offload him to alleviate their substantial wage bill. It’s understood that they have already proposed the striker to clubs like Tottenham Hotspur, among others in the Premier League. Spurs are in the market for a number 9, with Solanke being a suitable candidate, but his £65 million release clause has proven to be a deterrent.
Abraham had an impressive debut season in Serie A, scoring 27 goals. However, his injury-riddled campaign last season limited him to only 8 starts, netting 9 goals. He sustained a severe ACL tear on the final day of the season.
Aside from Tottenham, Aston Villa and Everton are also monitoring the situation. Abraham previously played for Aston Villa during the 2018-19 season, helping the club secure promotion back to the Premier League. West Ham United, searching for forward reinforcements, have also shown interest in the striker.
