On August 15, China’s basketball team announced today that Zhang Zhenlin needs treatment due to the recurrence of a chronic injury during the initial training phase. The committee has approved his leave. The original statement is as follows:
National basketball player Zhang Zhenlin experienced a recurrence of a chronic injury at the beginning of this training phase and has been actively cooperating with the team for treatment and recovery training. Following an expert diagnosis, it was determined that he requires corresponding rehabilitation treatment and is not suitable to continue participating in this phase of the national team training. After communicating with the coaching staff of the Chinese men’s basketball team, who fully understand his situation, the committee of the Chinese men’s basketball team agreed to grant him leave.
The Liaoning Flying Leopards’ official account then posted a thank you note to the basketball association and the national team for their care of Zhang Zhenlin:
“We would like to express our gratitude to the Chinese Basketball Association and the Chinese National Basketball Team for their concern and care for Zhang Zhenlin. The health of the players is paramount! The club will do everything possible to help Zhang Zhenlin recover quickly and return to the court soon. We thank all friends who care about and support Zhang Zhenlin and the Liaoning Flying Leopards! We also wish the Chinese men’s basketball team a successful, smooth, and healthy completion of their training and competition tasks!”
