On August 21, Real Madrid legend Guti spoke on the Spanish TV show ‘El Chiringuito’ about topics such as Real Madrid, Joao Felix, and Jadon Sancho.
Talking about Real Madrid’s 1-1 draw with Mallorca in La Liga’s opening match
Guti: “I think Ancelotti needs to learn from what Guardiola did at Barcelona, or what he is doing now at Manchester City, take a look at how they do it.”
“I support Ancelotti because his team selection was not wrong, he fielded the best players, but tactically, Real Madrid is not performing well enough. When the team loses possession, they tend to retreat, fall back, and set up defensively.”
“They should look at how Guardiola’s Barcelona did it, when they lost possession, they would immediately press to regain the ball, their pressure was intense and they would quickly regain control.”
Talking about wanting to sign Sancho previously
Guti: “I spotted him in the youth leagues, Sancho is excellent, I wanted to sign him at the time, but it didn’t happen.”
Talking about his attitude towards Felix
Guti: “Similarly in the youth leagues, I saw Felix dominate everyone, I thought I had to sign him, and I told Real Madrid. However, Real Madrid did not follow through with this transfer, they often do things their own way.”
