VfL Bochum lost 0-1 to SSV Jahn Regensburg in the first round of the German Cup, resulting in their early exit.
Under new coach Peter Zeidler, VfL Bochum suffered a disappointing start, being eliminated in the first round of the German Cup by the newly promoted second division side SSV Jahn Regensburg, making them the first Bundesliga team out of the tournament. Notably, they were also knocked out in the first round last year.
Zeidler commented after the match: “Our cup campaign is over, but it’s not the end of the world. We can play better, and our task now is to train well so that we have a chance when we face Leipzig.”
