After the closure of most league transfer windows, the renowned magazine 433 has also compiled a summary of the net income for various teams during this summer window. Manchester City tops the list with a net income of €140 million, followed by Leeds United from the Championship in second place.
Manchester City sold Alvarez and Cancelo during the summer window, with the combined transfer fees exceeding €100 million. Although there were some reinforcements at City, the cost of bringing in Savio was relatively low. Additionally, Gundogan’s return to the team did not incur any transfer fee. In terms of net income, Manchester City leads with €140 million, shedding their previous image as a club that spends extravagantly.
The team ranked second is Leeds United from the Championship, with a net income reaching €133 million. Notably, Leeds United sold nearly 10 players during the summer window, each deal bringing in considerable revenue, with total sales exceeding €160 million.
The third-ranked team is Genk from the Belgian First Division A, with a net income of €76 million (or €76.15 million). In fourth place is the Brazilian team Palmeiras, with a net income of €67 million (€67.1 million).
The famous European talent factory, Benfica, ranks fifth with a net income of €65 million (€65.42 million). The other two major selling clubs in the Portuguese league, Porto and Sporting CP, had relatively modest earnings this summer.
