At a recent press conference for the Portuguese national team, Ronaldo expressed his ambition to surpass MrBeast, currently the YouTuber with the most subscribers on YouTube, in the near future. Ronaldo issued the challenge: “MrBeast, in two years, I will overtake you; let’s see what happens.”
Mr. Beast (real name Jimmy Donaldson) is a well-known YouTuber, famous for his expensive stunt challenges, charitable donations, and high-cost video productions.
Within two weeks of officially joining YouTube, the “UR Cristiano” channel has already amassed 557 million followers. Although this number still falls short of MrBeast’s 312 million followers, Ronaldo has the potential to catch up, as he boasts 676 million followers on Instagram, ranking first globally.
Leveraging his influence as a world-class football star, Ronaldo broke a Guinness World Record during the first week of launching his YouTube channel. The “UR Cristiano” channel became the most subscribed channel on YouTube within 24 hours of its creation, with nearly 20 million subscribers.
When asked at the press conference if he intends to participate in the 2026 World Cup, 39-year-old Ronaldo responded, “I don’t like to talk about the distant future; I’m only focused on my immediate goals right now.”
From September 6 to September 9, Ronaldo will join his teammates in playing two matches in the UEFA Nations League against Croatia and Scotland.
