The German national team coach, Nagelsmann, has announced the appointment of Bayern Munich player Joshua Kimmich as the first captain of the German national team. The second captain will be Rudiger, and the third captain will be Havertz.
Due to the former captain Gundogan’s departure from the national team, coupled with the consecutive exits of veterans Muller and Neuer, the responsibility now falls on the 29-year-old Kimmich. However, he has worn the armband for the German national team multiple times in the past, continuing the tradition of Bayern Munich captains.
Additionally, due to the original first-choice goalkeeper stepping down, Nagelsmann also announced the appointment of Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen as the new first-choice goalkeeper: “Marc is the undisputed number one; he has been a captain at Barcelona for years, and his performance is beyond reproach.”
