In this round of the Premier League, Manchester United’s performance was disappointing, suffering a 0-3 defeat against Liverpool. However, Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes emphasized that mutual blame is useless.
The Portuguese international also publicly supported his teammate Casemiro, insisting that the entire team should be held accountable for the match result.
“We started well, creating more opportunities. We need to improve our efficiency, just like we did in the game against Fulham. They were very efficient,” he said in an interview with Sky Sports.
“Conceding goals always stems from our own mistakes. You need to make errors for them to score. We don’t need to point fingers at each other; it doesn’t help us now. When you concede a goal, you can’t blame one person’s mistake alone. What’s the point of saying Casemiro made a mistake or Kobe (Mene) made a mistake? They take risks because they want to be proactive. This is part of football. Don’t take it personally.”
“Casemiro has more experience than I do. I don’t need to tell him anything; he understands what football is all about. He has played for two of the best clubs in the world. Kobe is a young player with great potential. I hope he tries more because that’s part of his playing style. They are key players for the team and will continue to be so.”
“There’s no need to dwell on the past. We just need to make changes. We lost the game. Congratulations to Liverpool, they were more efficient. I don’t focus on statistics, but the game was indeed intense.”
