On August 29, George Brito, president of River Plate, denied the possibility of selling the club’s 17-year-old prodigy Mastantonno to Real Madrid, stating that the player is very happy at River Plate and currently wishes to continue playing for the club.
In recent years, Real Madrid has frequently recruited young South American talents, including Vinicius, Rodrygo, and Endrick, which has proven beneficial for the Spanish giants. According to Spanish media reports, Real Madrid has set its sights on the 17-year-old Argentine talent Mastantonno, hoping to bring him into their squad, and even claimed that the player had agreed to personal terms offered by Real Madrid, expressing a desire to play at the Bernabeu.
However, River Plate President Brito denied these rumors: “We have indeed been in contact with Real Madrid, but we did not discuss the transfer of Mastantonno, neither with Florentino nor anyone else. Currently, Mastantonno is very happy at River Plate. He is only 17 years old and still in his growth phase. Neither the player himself nor the club is in a hurry to let him leave.”
