On August 1st, Dalian Kuncheng FC of the China League Two announced that Zhou Lin has joined the club’s coaching staff as head coach. Former head coach Zhao Faqing will be promoted to the position of overall head coach of the club.
Official Announcement from Dalian Kuncheng Football Club:
After friendly negotiations, we are pleased to invite Zhou Lin to join the coaching staff of Dalian Kuncheng Football Club, where he will serve as head coach.
Zhou Lin was born in Tianjin in 1981 and played as a defender during his career. He previously played for teams such as Qianwei Huandao, Chongqing Lifan, Guangzhou Pharmaceutical, and Guangzhou Evergrande, and was frequently selected for various levels of the Chinese national team. Alongside players like Zhang Yaokun and Qu Bo, he is often referred to as part of the “Super Platinum Generation” of 1981. After retiring, Zhou Lin transitioned into coaching and took charge of Shijiazhuang Kungfu in June 2023, leading them to a record of 12 wins, 6 draws, and 2 losses in 20 matches, finishing third in the China League One that season.
While Zhou Lin joins the coaching team, former head coach Zhao Faqing will be promoted to the position of overall head coach at Dalian Kuncheng Football Club. At the beginning of this season, Zhao Faqing took on the role of head coach for Dalian Kuncheng under challenging circumstances, leading the team to a third-place finish in the preliminary round of the northern division of China League Two, successfully advancing to the promotion group. We look forward to both coaches working together to achieve even greater success in the upcoming promotion group matches of China League Two this season.
