On July 25, in the sixth round of the LPL Group matches, RNG lost 1-2 to IG. With one win and five losses across six games, they are now out of contention for the Knight’s Path;
Meanwhile, EDG has a record of two wins and four losses with a small game point differential of -4. Even if they achieve their best possible record of three wins and four losses with a point differential of -2 (or -1 if TT is swept in their last match), both EDG and RNG will be out of contention for the Knight’s Path and playoffs, effectively ending their participation in all LPL events this season.
This marks the first time in LPL history, since RNG joined in 2015, that both EDG and RNG have failed to reach the playoffs in both the Spring and Summer splits of the same year.
