On July 30 at 23:00, the third round of Group B in the 2024 Paris Olympic men’s football preliminaries saw Argentina U23 face off against Ukraine U23.
In the 5th minute of the first half, Medina delivered an excellent through ball. Little Simoni inserted from the right and passed the ball back to the near post but Krupsky managed to clear it in time.
In the 8th minute, Fernandez crossed from the right, and Gondou headed towards goal but was brilliantly saved by Fesyun, and Argentina U23 missed a great chance.
In the 10th minute, Otamendi launched a long pass to start an attack. Little Simoni passed the ball with his heel, and Alvarez shot from outside the box but just over the crossbar.
In the 17th minute, Kreshchyk crossed horizontally from a set piece on the left, and Batagov followed up with a volley but was heroically blocked by Dicesar.
In the 26th minute, Blaharu cut inside from the left and delivered a 45-degree cross. Kran made a diving header but missed, and Argentina U23 narrowly avoided conceding.
In the 28th minute, Medina played the ball centrally, Little Simoni followed up with a cross, and Martinik cleared it from in front of the goal.
In the 40th minute, Alvarez played a direct pass during a counterattack. Little Simoni controlled the ball and dribbled past a defender before shooting low, but the ball was gathered by Fesyun.
In the 42nd minute, Almada delivered a through ball, and Little Simoni had a semi one-on-one situation but his shot went wide of the post.
In the 44th minute, Alvarez played a calm through ball from the edge of the box. Gondou raced forward and took a powerful shot, but Fesyun came out to block, and Ukraine U23 survived a close call.
The first half ended with Argentina U23 drawing 0-0 with Ukraine U23.
