Prior rumors suggested that the Premier League was planning to host some matches in the United States in the future. Several figures within the league, including Liverpool Chairman Tom Warner, had expressed support for this idea. However, Bill Foley, the American owner of Bournemouth, has clearly opposed this proposal.
In a recent interview with the BBC, Foley stated: “I believe what we are doing now, pre-season games in the U.S., is what we should be doing. But should we have Premier League games in the U.S.? I think they should still be played in the UK. We need to respect the whole system. If you talk to Bournemouth fans, they will tell you that you have to respect our system and tradition.”
