According to the Guangzhou Daily, the Paris Olympic tennis tournament will be held at Roland Garros, the venue for the French Open, with the stadium setup now complete. Recently, the 2024 Paris Olympics organizers and the International Tennis Federation (ITF) announced the scoring rules for the tennis events: singles matches will all follow a best-of-three sets format, with a tiebreak if the deciding set reaches 6-6; all doubles events will also use a best-of-three sets format, with a direct tiebreak at ten points to decide the winner if it goes to a deciding set. This move is aimed at compressing match durations and enhancing spectator enjoyment.
During the competition, the Roland Garros stadium will feature Olympic rings decorations, with the main color scheme changing from traditional dark green to blue with white lettering and light pink accents, giving it a more youthful and vibrant feel.
The Chinese team lineup has been announced, with only Zhi-Zhen Zhang in the men’s singles, and Qinwen Zheng, Xin-Yu Wang, Yue Yuan, and Xi-Yu Wang in the women’s singles. The women’s doubles will be led by Sai-Sai Zheng/Zhang/Shuai and Xin-Yu Wang/Qinwen Zheng, while the mixed doubles pairings will be decided on-site upon the players’ arrival.
