Recently, Roberto Calenda, the agent of Napoli’s forward Victor Osimhen, broke his silence, angrily denouncing the transfer rumors linking his client to Chelsea as disrespectful to the player and calling for an end to the fabrication of fake news.
Despite being at the center of transfer speculation, the 25-year-old Osimhen still managed to score 17 goals across all competitions last season. In the title-winning 2022/23 Serie A campaign for Napoli, Osimhen was particularly impressive, scoring 31 goals and playing a pivotal role in securing the championship. Since last summer, there have been persistent rumors about Osimhen potentially leaving Napoli. Chelsea has been reported as the most interested party in acquiring the Nigerian forward and is preparing to make an official offer.
According to multiple reports, Chelsea is in talks with Napoli for a deal that would see Osimhen join the Blues on loan, with Lukaku possibly heading to Serie A. Chelsea has been eager to sell Lukaku permanently and has loaned him out for the past two seasons.
As Osimhen’s agent, Calenda firmly denied the rumored loan swap. Calenda stated, “I read about this so-called ‘dream swap’ involving Osimhen, as if he were a package that needs to be delivered quickly. But please remember, this package was the top scorer when Napoli secured their third Serie A title in history. Show him some respect and stop making up fake news!”
