On July 22, a netizen posted photos on social media showing that former Chinese Women’s National Team coach Shui Qingxia had arrived in Changchun. It is reported that she will officially take over as the head coach of Changchun Dazhong Zhuoyue Women’s Football Team.
Shui Qingxia is currently 58 years old and became the official head coach of the Chinese Women’s National Team in 2021. During her tenure, she led the team to win the 2022 AFC Women’s Asian Cup. Due to the Chinese Women’s National Team failing to qualify for the Paris Olympic Games, Shui stepped down from her position as head coach in November 2023.
Changchun Dazhong Zhuoyue Women’s Football Team is currently competing in the Chinese Women’s Super League. After 12 rounds of matches, the team has remained undefeated with 7 wins and 5 draws, accumulating 26 points and ranking third in the league table.
